Debt Collections: Your first step

In order to begin the process of debt collection, we will need the following information from you, so your collection can progress as quickly as possible:

bullet

Any and all documents in your possession that will support your claim.  Normally, these include the invoice and the credit application on the debtor.

bullet

If the debt has been reduced to a note, then please send us a copy of the note.

bullet

If you so choose, please send us a brief description of the events that have transpired that have prompted you to employ a collection lawyer.  What were the circumstances surrounding the debt?  How long has it been?  What is the character of the debtor?  Narratives of this sort can be essential to our understanding of the specific needs of your case and as such we encourage you to send one.

bullet

All pertinent data regarding the defendant.  This includes all known addresses, aliases, spouses, parents, etc.  In order to make this process a painless one, we have developed a form that can serve as your guide.
